Tease and Tackle

It was Jay's first day in Delhi Public School. This is where I met him for the first time and we became best friends later. As Jay entered the class, everyone was starring him as he was a new guy. He attended two lectures and then came the lunch time. Here begins the first challenge for Jay : How to start a conversation?

A group of 6 people called him with one very fat guy sitting in between them shouted in a rude voice : What was your percentage last year ? 

Jay soon realized this was the group of toppers and he never likes the company of such people. Next group called him and they sounded like group of local people of the state. Then Jay came across my group. It was the group of average students (and those especially who were united by friendship rather that marks or language) and we became friends. 

As we know that Jay was an intelligent and hard working boy. Next day, when teacher started teaching, Jay used to write all important points and make notes. This was observed by one of the toppers Nimish and he became angry. Soon after the lecture, he went to Jay and tore his paper. This was the first time Jay got teased and decided to break this group system. It was a tradition in DPS to finish the lunch and play for rest of the time in break. 

Jay decided to introduce a game called "Alien". In this game, we have to finish the lunch quickly and run to a pre-decided place(spaceship) in school ground. But the last coming guy (alien) will have to catch the people who came out of the circle of the spaceship. Maximum you can be in spaceship for 1 minute and then you have to come out for a while Within a months time this game became viral in whole class and regardless of every group everyone used to come in ground to play. No more groups in class and discussing about people. Groups got united with one beautiful idea.

Does success means winning?

Now, I hope all of us are familiar with the nature of Jay (For reference read my previous post at http://surajraina.blogspot.in/2015/09/a-young-boy.html).

Jay is now in 5th standard, studying in Delhi Public School. For the 1st time school was organizing a race of 7 km. Everyone was allowed to participate right from the 1st standard to 12th standard. But it was obvious that young kids like those in 1st to 7th couldn't run for 7 km. So, the game was for seniors ( at least in the minds of most of the students). Top 15 runners would be awarded.
But the interesting part of the game was that when you are running, beautiful school girls were there to support players and give them drinks.
Jay wanted to participate because he wanted to look hero in front of a girl (volunteer and classmate) named Nehali Jain. So, he started to practice hard. Every morning and evening he used to run. Although, everyone thought it was impossible for 11 year boy to complete the race.
Well, the race begun and Jay was initially for 1st two kilometres in top 5. But as soon as race continued,he began to exhaust. He wanted water and to his surprise he was offered water by one of the volunteers. Without looking who the person was he drank the glass of water and started running again. Finally, Jay reached the destination. The results were announced and to his surprise he came 16th. Not expected earlier but now he was feeling sad. A little more effort and he would have won. The story didn't end here " Picture abhi baki hai mere dost"As he was going home, a girly voice reached his ears saying "You ran very well, better luck next time. I think you can win this race".
When Jay looked at her,that girl was Nehali and this was the time Jay realized she was the same girl that offered him water when he was running. Jay was so happy that he could fly with happiness. This happiness  gave a feeling of joy and pleasure, a feeling of success.

A Young Boy

All I am going to share is a story of boy Jay.
A true success story from his childhood to the time he died.
Jay (My Character) was born in a beautiful city Jammu and Kashmir. A middle class family with 3 members in total Rajesh (Jay's father) and Geeta (Jay's mother). His story began from Punjab where he started his education.
According to you, what is success?
For me and my friend Jay it is something that brings happiness and a feeling of proud. Something that brings a sensation in you that you are something. That you are valuable. If you get this feeling anywhere, any-time, believe that you have successfully achieved something.
Since Jay was not from Punjab his 1st challenge was to learn Punjabi. He scored 40 out of 100 in his exams and was really sad. Here it is important to recognize the terms " hard-work" and "efforts". He started working hard. After all his efforts he scored 82. Wow, a really happy moment for him. He was feeling successful for the 1st time. Teachers were amazed at such a change and improvement in so much small time. Most of us might be happy and stop here. but here comes the difference between success and successful. Jay didn't stop here. He worked harder this time and was able to score 92/100. Now, that is what we call achievement.

Small Time Success can be easily attained but maintaining it makes success a big Achievement.
